Flight 2&3

LM153/LM154

SAAB 340B G-LGNE 10D/07A (emergency exit)

Inverness - Stornoway - Inverness

After flying in from Manchester I've decided to book 2 extra legs out of Inverness in stead of just waiting to fly back. The plane for today's up and down flight was G-LGNE (flew this one last year with the Flybe scheme from Inverness to Manchester). Since Loganair got independent again they refurbished the interior completely with new seats and lighting.

The cabin itself looked fresh and clean, and the tartan headrest covers are definetly something unique and typical for Loganair being Scotland's airline. Another typical thing for the SAAB 340 is the last row which has 4 seats. Once boarding I was greated by a friendly male crew member, their uniform is also completely with tartan accents here and there. Today's load was very light, only 17 passengers to Stornoway. As soon as everyone was on board the door was closed and the plane left it's stand for an on-time departure and only 24 minutes flight to Stornoway. Shortly after take off the guy announced there wouldn't be a service due to the very short flight which happened to be bumpy as well.

Pretty soon the coastline of Stornoway was to be seen and the descent started for an on and even before time arrival. As I was worried about making the connection back to Inverness and Manchester it gave me some extra time as I didn't know the same plane would bring me back to Inverness. As soon as I arrived inside the airport which was a tiny airport an announcement was made for security staff to prepare the screening area as you arrive straight into landside when entering the airport. As soon as all passengers were in the waiting lounge the boarding for the flight back commenced, on this leg only 7 pass

engers were booked.

For the return flight I had 07A which was the emergency exit row, this row had a very generous pitch and space for hand luggage wasn't an issue at all with the very light load factor in this flight. Crew was the same as the incoming flight but this time there was time for an inflight service as he came around before take off asking every passenger individually what we would like to have. Choices were hot or cold drinks with water served in bottles which was more than ok.

Doors were closed quickly and 10 minutes before the scheduled take off the plane was in the air again for a 30 minutes flight to Inverness. On the return it was a bit more bumpy as clouds were coming in from the North. Soon after take off the seatbelt sign stayed on for that matter and the remaining hot drinks were handed out to those who had requested it before take off.

As we left 10 minutes earlier the plane landed 20 minutes earlier in Inverness leaving enough time to go through screening again to be on time for the flight back to Manchester.

Overal Loganair's flight experience is pretty much comparable with last year's service when they flew for flyBE. The main goal is to set the Scottish tone as from the moment you board the aircraft with tartans everywhere from uniforms to headrest covers. However it would have been nice to see it coming back on the napkins which were sadly plan white :( but other than that they're friendly and present at all times. From the check in to on board staff everyone was really nice and friendly. I would defenetly book another travel with Loganair in the very near future.
